Holiday Gifts for People on the Healing Journey

The holiday season is here and many of us are in the process of buying gifts for our friends and family. I received a question about gift suggestions for people healing this holiday season, so I put together this gift-guide to help inspire healing & self-care gift ideas!

Self-care is a major theme throughout the healing journey because people need to take care of their mind and body while healing. I prepared this gift guide based on affordable items that I have used for self-care on my own healing journey. These gifts can also be a nice treat for yourself!

Journal & Pen

Journaling is an important practice during the healing journey. This is a great gift for someone who already journals regularly or is looking for a safe space to begin exploring their feelings. I have drawers full of notebooks because I journal everyday.

Books

Reading books is scientifically proven to ease stress and anxiety. I am a huge fan of The Cuckoo's Calling, which is the first book in the Cormoran Strike detective series written by J.K. Rowling under a pen name. I also included Brené Brown's best-selling book Daring Greatly, which is a self-help book about embracing vulnerability and imperfection, living wholeheartedly and engaging courageously.

Adult Coloring Book

The healing journey starts with self-care, and coloring is a great way to help anyone looking to integrate, relax, and take a break from healing. After a hard day, I often color while watching tv or listening to music to clear my mind. This is the coloring book that I am currently working my way through.

Bath & Body

The healing journey starts with self-care, and bath & body items are a great way to help the body take a break from healing. I love taking baths and listening to music or podcasts to help unwind after therapy or journaling. These are some products that I have used, but really anything works!

Candles

Candles are a great way to help ease stress and anxiety by bringing tranquility to someone's home or safe space. I always light a candle and set an intention before journalling or meditating. My total budget for candles might be higher than most, but they can be a really inexpensive but thoughtful gift.
