about

New View Advice is a media company for the healing journey. We offer a new view on age-old problems and traumas. Created for humans by humans.

New View Advice is a media company for the healing journey. We offer a new view on age old problems and traumas.

  • We believe there is NOT a one size fits all approach to healing - every path is different.

  • We believe in sharing openly and vulnerably to help others feel less alone on their healing journeys.

  • We believe the human journey is nuanced – there is no black and white / right vs wrong.

  • We believe in freedom from shame, and always share our truth - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the beautiful.

  • We believe compassion is a key to the healing journey.

  • We believe that by having compassion for ourselves first, we can be more compassionate and empathetic with others.

New View Advice is created for humans by humans, because in a world of AI, sometimes you just need a human touch.

meet amanda durocher!

Amanda Durocher is the creator and founder of New View Advice. Amanda started New View Advice in 2021 as a solo-hosted podcast and since then it has evolved to feature more content for the healing journey, including blog posts, poems, youtube videos, meditations, journal prompts, healing hubs, and more.

Amanda found the hardest part of her healing journey to be how isolated and alone she felt while healing from trauma. She created New View Advice with the goal of helping people feel seen, validated, and less alone on their healing journeys - all for free.

Amanda began her own healing journey in her early twenties after the death of a close friend. This led to more healing, which included healing from rape, child sexual abuse, childhood trauma, and more.

Jen is a long time listener of and now contributor of New View Advice. New View Advice was a huge support in her own healing journey, so the full circle moment of writing for New View Advice is a part of her calling to share and help others. As a hairstylist, Jen's passion for helping others feel comfortable in their own skin has grown into a deeper commitment to helping people meet themselves and truly love who they are.

Jen began her healing journey in her mid-twenties after suddenly becoming aware of things she'd pushed away from her past - including profound loss, sexual assault, challenges in relationship dynamics with family, friends and partners - and started on a path of healing.  Through self-help tools and deep introspection, she found the strength to face her own traumas and evolve - not into someone new, but into the truest version of herself.
