Journal Prompts: Why Life is Unfair

Journal Prompts:

  • Take 3 deep breaths. Close your eyes and think of your childhood. What feelings arise? Do you hear anything? See anything? Does a specific memory arise? Start journaling about what comes up for you and allow yourself to explore these feelings and memories.

  • What are three words you would use to describe your relationship with your mother? And elaborate. Do any feelings arise? Images? Memories?

  • What are three words you would use to describe your relationship with your father? And elaborate. Do any feelings arise? Images? Memories?

  • Journal all your feelings about how you feel like what you are healing from is unfair. Allow yourself to free write and to get out all your thoughts and feelings about how “this is unfair.”

  • Free flow consciousness about your sadness (or another feeling). Write “I am sad because” and then keep writing and allow whatever needs to come up to arise.

  • Who am I without [baseball] (or insert the loss you are experiencing here)?

  • If my sadness (or other emotion) had one sentence it wanted to say to me, what would it be?

Pick one question, write it in your journal and just let your pen flow. You may go completely off topic when you start journaling and that’s okay! Trust that whatever comes up when you start writing is what you are meant to journal about. When you are done writing. Take a few moments to reread what you wrote and see if you learned anything new about yourself. Journaling is a practice. Be kind and patient with yourself.

Sending you all my love <3
