You’re a Phony Idol

You had real power

And you chose to squander it.

I used to look up to you

And now realize your pathetic.

You’re a phony idol

Who looks so evolved.

But the only thing you are

Is totally self-involved.

You think you’re a hero

In your castle in isolation.

Like you deserve an applause

For your personal vacation.

I hope you enjoy

Your quiet existence.

It suits a coward

One stuck in resistance.

You think you’re Apollo

And as bright as the sun.

But I’m more fond of Diana

The Goddess of the Hunt.

And like Diana

I never miss a shot.

So watch out player

I’ll shoot you on the spot.

I actually want to thank you

Cause you helped me get here.

And now that I see you clearly

There’s nothing left to fear.

Cause though you taught me

You also filled me with doubt.

And now that I don’t have that

I’ve figured a few things out.

One of them being

That I deserve better than you.

Someone who treats me

As someone out of view.

You looked down on me

Like I was the one broken.

But I’ve been doing the work

While you stare at the ocean.

So don’t come around here

You’re not welcome anymore.

I don’t need your guidance

Get the fuck out my door.
